Every Sunday, our children and youth in preschool through high school gather in their classrooms for Sunday School classes after Children’s Time in worship. Thanks to the dedication of our faithful and caring teachers, our kids participate in engaging lessons on Christian faith and the Bible. They sing, play games, listen to stories, and do crafts that relate to the scripture lesson for the day.
Nursery care is provided for infants and children up to age 3 during the whole Sunday worship service. Our nursery caregiver, Felicity Miller, and her team of attendants are there to take care of our youngest ones every week. A paging system is available so you may be reached during worship if there is a problem regarding your child. The nursery is located in our Christian Education wing and one of the ushers would be happy to show you where it is when you arrive. If you have questions about Sunday school or nursery care, please contact Rev. Susie Bjork.
Safe Church & Release Form
All volunteers and employees who work with our children and youth have been background checked in compliance with our safe church policy. All children and youth who attend Sunday school must also have a release form on file with the church. You can print our release form here, fill it out, and bring it with you to church. Thank you! We hope to see your child in Sunday School soon!
Vacation Bible School
Join us for VBS 2019! – June 17-21
Calling all kids, age 4 and up! Vacation Bible School is getting a makeover in 2019! We are trying something new and different this summer by offering a full-day program Monday-Friday, June 17-21. We’ll be utilizing Cokesbury’s To Mars and Beyond curriculum as our starting place for our intergalactic romp through God’s universe. The usual VBS favorites (games, Bible story time, etc.) will still be included. But we are expanding our efforts to incorporate a music and arts component that will allow the kids to creatively explore the daily scriptural themes. And we’ll cap the week with a pizza dinner and a musical show beginning at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
The program will run from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with early drop-off available from 8:00-9:00 and late pick-up available from 4:00-5:00. The suggested donation is $100 per child (early drop-off, late pick-up will be $5 per instance, no charge for Friday afternoon). Need based scholarships are available. And, we’ll be waiving all fees for children whose parent, older sibling, or other family member serves as a volunteer.
Volunteers are needed! Please email email@example.com if you’d like to help.
Many of our children and youth go to Pilgrim Pines Camp in the summer. Located in the San Bernardino Mountains and operated by our own Southern California Nevada Conference of the United Church of Christ, Pilgrim Pines offers fun and faith-filled camp experiences for children and youth in first grade through high school. You can often find members of our church up there serving as a counselor for a week too!
