Activites & Community Outreach - Bay Shore Friends

Founded in 1940 as the Mr. and Mrs. Club, subsequently the Prime Timers, and now Bay Shore Friends, this club was the oldest ongoing club in the church.  They usually met four Friday nights a year for a potluck supper and program in the church's Concert Hall.  In December, they had their annual Christmas dinner and gift exchange at a local country club. They assumed responsibilty for organizing the Sunday fellowship coffee hours after worship, and served receptions following memorial services.  Through their dues and donations, they provided recognition awards each summer to students in our church family, supported Habitat for Humanity, and made other donations to special church projects.

At their December 2010 Christmas dinner, the group had their last gathering, ending seventy years of faithful service to Bay Shore Church and the community.  Some of their responsibilities will be undertaken by the Fellowship Club, where some Bay Shore Friends are now attending.
