About Bay Shore - Denomination

The United Church of Christ (UCC) has grown from the Congregational roots of our Pilgrim and Puritan ancestors and was formed in 1957 through a merger with the Evangelical and Reformed Church. We are affiliated with 6,300 UCC churches and 1.6 million members across the country who share similar values and beliefs. The UCC is Congregational in government, Evangelical in outreach, and Reformed in doctrine.
